Every person is a Living Being (Jeevaraasi). He is waiting to get salvation in the Ocean of Births and Deaths (Janmamruthyora Sagaram) and return to the Godhead.
In this endeavor, it undertakes many activities, in the life it gets in the form of an animal. The activities many be good or they may be bad, which is called karma, and those activities result in lasting impressions on the soul (atma) that it is, resulting in more births and deaths.
In the human life of an atma, its the Senses (Indriyani) and Animal Instincts (Mrugathathvam) that effects it the most. The god of Indriyani and Mrugathathvam is Shiva as Pashupathi.
For the ardent devotee, who is aspiring to get free, Its very helpful to know for a human being the Vamsinath Sidhantham which is summarized as below:
A person should practice Maunam, Nidhanam, Maryadham, Ekantham and Samaikhyam. Along with this, He should meditate on Mantham and Shlokam.
Manthram is Om Namah Shivaya, Shiva Shambho and /or Shiva Malik.
Shlokam is Shiva Girisha Sthothram and/or Mahamruthyunjaya Sthothram.
Worshiping a shiva lingam as Vamsinath Lingam, helps to concentrate on the Persona of Vamsinath and always think about observance of Vamsinath Sidhantham.
Vamsinath judges a person by his Shabdho Karm Swabhavo Niyathi. He indulges in Sishta Palana Dustha Sikshana.
Always remembering "vamsinath" helps to purify the karma of a human being.
Vamsinath says "Janmamruthyorasagaram Sakshath Mama" which means that he is Ocean of Births and Deaths. He is Sarvakaranakaranam. Hence, meditating on him, a human can traverse this ocean of births and death, and reach his abode, which is Vamsinath Dham, from where there is no return.
Hence, whatever a human being does, he should think that "Jeevan Jeena Vamsinath Karna De", which means, that a human being should practice Vamsinath Sidhantham, always remembering Vamsinath, and its Vamsinath who does the deliverance to him ultimately.
